In need of inspiration?
We suggest an itinerary that combines Paris classics with a few of the lesser-known attractions both to tourists and Parisians alike!
The Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Élysées, the Louvre, the Galeries Lafayette and Notre-Dame Cathedral are all located in a nearby radium, approximately 30 km from the airport. As you drive out of the city centre, visit the Versailles Castle less than 15 km away.
If you would rather go east from Notre-Dame Cathedral, for example, you could visit the Père Lachaise cemetery, just 3.5 km away. Don’t forget to take a bateau mouche (boat) tour on the Seine! The docks are located near the Eiffel Tower. Wait until the evening, the view is incredible.
From the Louvre, visit the Luxembourg Garden and then roam Mouffetard Street, 1.5 km away. Whether on foot or in the car, it’s up to you to decide! If you want tranquility, Montsouris Park will allow you to take a well-deserved break. 9 km away, Buttes Chaumont and Butte Bergeyre parks offer an area lesser-known to tourists. On your way, there is the National Museum of Natural History and the Jardin des plantes (garden).
A word of advice: As with most touristic cities, it is preferable to visit popular sites on weekdays to avoid the weekend crowds.
Here are a few other nearby places that may interest you:
- Montorgueil pedestrian district (1 km from the Louvre);
- Docks and St. Martin canal district (4.5 km from the Louvre);
- Château de Vincennes (9 km from the Louvre);
- Montmartre (4.6 km from the Louvre);
- Sacré-Cœur (4.5 km from the Louvre);
- Saint-Germain-en-Laye Castle and the Musée national d'Antiquités (15 km from Boulogne Forest);
- Green Corridor in the 12th District (2.7 km from Notre-Dame Cathedral);
- Le Marais (1.6 km from the 12th’s Green Corridor).
No matter where your interests lie, there is a little of everything in Paris! Add to this list depending on your tastes and available time.
